Hahnville High teacher Cigi Robert’s Spanish IV AP students have been learning about Hispanic artists. Each student chose an artist to research, wrote a report on that artist in Spanish, spoke extemporaneously about the artist and selected a painting to recreate in class. This unit helped improve the students’ reading, writing and speaking skills in preparation for the Spanish Language AP exam, which all students will take in May. This unit also helped the students develop an appreciation of Hispanic artists. Posing for a picture are (front row, left to right) Nelly Carrillo, Kathryn Prendergast, Kristal Breaux, Albert Washington and Phillip Brou; and (back row, left to right) Adam Wayment, Lisa Weaver, Leighanna Rasco, Juliette Folse, Logan Cancienne and Alexis Agnelly.
