The journey is just beginning

Their formative years soon to be but a memory, young people throughout the region are taking their final steps as high school students.
They climb the stage as young teenagers with their stress
factors being acne and puppy love and depart with their futures a blank canvas and they as the artists with brushes in hand, eager to paint a portrait limited only by their own imaginations.
Diplomas are much more than a sheepskin; rather they are passports to young adulthood. It’s the ground floor of a career that only they can script. Hopefully, students will have received the educational foundation upon which to build their future and have developed the confidence and self-esteem to understand that destiny is not accidental but authored by their life skills and decision-making abilities.
Today’s graduates are tomorrow’s leaders; they are the architects of the future. They will build upon what they inherit from today’s society and will improve it as each generation has in the past.
Graduation is a time to celebrate, a time to gather with families and share tearful good-byes with friends that may never be seen again. Tomorrow dawns a new day, a fresh start filled with adult-like decisions, baby steps into a new world.
The innocence of youth will be left behind in the hallways and breezeways of high school, but what awaits is far more exciting. The horizon teases with the promises of new adventures
and new friends and glimpses into what will hopefully be fulfilling personal and professional lives.
L’Observateur congratulates all the graduates of the River Parishes for a job well done. The future is yours.
