The abortion issue will never go away

Warning: This article may be detrimental to your views on abortion. No, it’s not about my opinion or convictions, but rather about the court proceedings that took place in Philadelphia recently.
Being pro-life, with no exceptions or apologies, I closely followedthe trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a 72-year-
old Philadelphia abortion doctor. This week he was accused of killing three babies born alive at his clinic.
Former clinic employees testified at the trial that Gosnell routinely performed illegal abortions past Pennsylvania’s 24-week limit. They testified that he delivered babies who were still moving, whimpering or breathing and that he and his assistants dispatched the newborns by “snipping” their spines, as he referred to it.
A 2011 grand jury investigation into Gosnell’s alleged prescription drug trafficking led
to some gruesome findings about
his abortion clinic. The clinic
had gone 15 years without an inspection.
Prosecution experts said that one teen was nearly 30 weeks pregnant when Gosnell aborted her fetus and then allegedly joked that the baby was so big it could “walk to the bus.” If these gruesome details that came out of the trial turned your stomach, they should have.
God will not allow the abortion issue to go away. When people hear and read about what happened in Gosnell’s clinic, how can anyone be pro-choice? The problem is that most people prefer to turn their heads and not face the abortion issue.
