On Tuesday morning at 9:13 a.m., St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 300 block of Historic East Street in Garyville for the report of a subject being shot.

The victim, a 24-year-old man from LaPlace, was transport by family members to River Parishes Hospital for treatment and remains there in guarded condition. No one else was injured during the incident.
