Ascension of Our Lord sixth-graders display their completed artwork following the Debris Fish Workshop. Lafayette artist Trish Ransom teaches the kids about recycling and gives them some fun fish facts. Then, the students use artist’s and carpenter’s tools to create an artwork made entirely from recycled materials. Showing their artwork are (front row, left to right) Christina Hood, Destiny Zimmerman, Gino Gagliano, Lauren Trichell, Lauren Aucoin and Hannah Lowry; (middle row, left to right) Robert Mays, Destiny Ciercierski, Chloe Navarro, Samuel Accardo, Kelsie Williams and Arielle Tillery; and (back row, left to right) Robert Newsom, Jacob Mullins and Janine Hayes, along with artist Trish Ransom. This workshop was made possible through a grant from the River Region Arts and Humanities Council.
