GRAMERCY – St. James Parish-based Crazy ‘Bout History continued its outreach to the area’s future historians Sunday with its first ever Easter Bunny Hop.
Fresh off the success of its Cajun Christmas event, the group hosted an afternoon of Easter-themed fun and games for scores of local children. Activities included musical chairs, coloring, face painting, making bracelets, photos with the Easter Bunny and some interesting facts about the holiday to complete the learning aspect.
“We’re still mixing history and fun for the kids,” said Crazy ‘Bout History head Connie Donadieu. “We had a good turnout.”
But Donadieu added that the ultimate goal is to reach the children where they are already primed for learning — the schools.
In the meantime, the group is already planning its second Cajun Christmas event and also looking at hosting a brunch that will “bring the past and present together.”
