Gramercy man killed in work accident in St. Charles

HAHNVILLE – A River Parish Maintenance worker was killed in St. Charles Parish while unloading pipes Wednesday afternoon.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that 56-year-old Michael Louque of Gramercy was working at Motiva in Norco where he was loading two 500-pound loading pumps on a flatbed truck.
The load allegedly shifted, at which time the pumps fell on top of the victim. Louque, 56, was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital and pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation.
