St. Charles Catholic High School recently sponsored its eighth bus trip to the annual March for Life
in Washington, D.C. This year’s march commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision. St. Charles Catholic High School was represented by 26 students and two teachers.
“I was grateful to be part of this exciting and moving experience, and it has been a life-changing event,” said SCC senior Reena Wadhwa.
The theme of this year’s march was “Pro-life: The Human Rights Issue of Today.” Students gathered at the National Mall for the rally, then marched to the Supreme Court and Congress. St. Charles Catholic High School students also visited the Smithsonian Museums, Arlington National Cemetery, National Memorials and met with their congressmen over lunch. In addition, the students attended Mass with Archbishop Aymond of New Orleans at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Alexandria, Va.  “Archbishop Aymond was inspirational to us during the mass in Washington, D.C. – the trip was an experience of a lifetime,” said SCC senior Paige Ocmond.
Before departing Washington, D.C., the students attended a vigil Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The students returned to school and shared many magnificent stories about their experiences in Washington, D.C., with fellow students and teachers.
