Two arrested for Reserve homicide

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of shooting in the 100 block of East 24th St. in Reserve on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
The deputies found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his head. He was identified as Anthony Young, 34, of Reserve. Young was pronounced dead at the scene, making the shooting the fourth homicide case of the year. The last homicide of 2012 occurred on Dec. 31.
No one else was injured in the incident.
According the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, two arrests were made on Thursday, Feb. 21 in the death of Anthony Young: Kenneth Edward Hicks III, 49, of 1955 Longwood Court in LaPlace, was booked with first-degree murder. Dontae Samuel Bond, 31, of 4514 Wilton Place in Los Angeles, Calif., was booked with principal to first-degree murder. No bond has been set.
