December Norco murder still under investigation

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is still actively investigating a homicide that occurred Dec. 15, 2012.
Deputies with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to 231 St. Charles St., Apt. B6, in Norco in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a 21-year-old white male, later identified as Jay Bertucci, lying on the floor with a single gunshot wound to his chest.
According to witnesses, Bertucci answered the door at which time a black male subject pointed a handgun at him. Bertucci attempted to grab the gun, and the gun fired, striking Bertucci in the chest. The subject, along with two other subjects outside of the door, then fled the scene on foot. These subjects are described as three black males, two wearing black “hoodies” and one having a bandana covering his face.
This incident, which according to the Sheriff’s Officeappears to be drug related, is under investigation.
