St. John Sheriff’s Office nabs 2 for Reserve home invasion

LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested two suspects on judicial court ordered arrests warrants for the home invasion on East 16th Street in Reserve on Dec. 19.
After receiving an anonymous tip, detectives identified D’ante M. Harris, 20, of 3455 Caroldale Drive in Paulina and Lamar Farnell, 21, of 210 E. 15th St. in Reserve as suspects in the home invasion investigation.
Harris was arrested Thursday evening and booked with home invasion. Farnell was arrested Friday morning and booked with home invasion and aggravated criminal damage to property.
According to the initial incident report, on Wednesday, Dec. 19, St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 200 block of East 16th Street in Reserve for the report of a home invasion.
The 72-year-old male victim told deputies he was in the kitchen of his home when he heard knocking and kicking at the front door and someone yelling in a threatening manner. He armed himself with a handgun, and when he peaked into the living room, he saw a male subject holding a handgun in the living room. The victim shot in the direction of the intruder who fled out the front door. The victim was not injured.
