The Rotary Club of LaPlace recently presented a $3,000 check to the K9 Unit of the St. John Sheriff’s Department. The money was raised during the club’s annual Pups in the Park. This donation will enable the Sheriff’s Department to purchase Kevlar vests for the police dogs. Kevlar is a bullet resistant material. Shown are, from left, Deputy Steve Dailey, Bill Ironside, Lt.
