METAIRIE — Riverside tied its second opponent in a week’s time Wednesday as it traveled to Country Day, finishing the match knotted up with the Cajuns, 1-1.

Jordan Duhon scored the Rebels’ goal, one that came very quickly following the opening of the contest.

Riverside carried that lead into halftime, but Country Day rallied to tie things up in the second half.

“I felt like we were a little off of our game,” said Riverside coach Brittany St. Pierre. “We didn’t play to our fullest potential and probably relaxed a little too much.”

“We made some correctable mistakes. Everyone wants to be perfect every day … I think we’ll rebound next time out.”

St. Pierre said that the Rebels seemed a little flat after the first goal.

“The first one came a bit easily, and that might have led to us relaxing after that,” she said. “Country Day’s always been a pretty good team and obviously they weren’t going away.”

Defensively, she said the team played strong again. Riverside has been able to rely on its defense to start the season, a big reason why the Rebels have lost just three times in 13 games.

“The goal came on a bad hop, just one of those things,” said St. Pierre. “The defense was fine. We’ve been pretty strong there basically all season.”
