EDGARD — St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre recently presented West St. John High School with a very special surprise.

“We wanted to donate this golf cart to the high school because we had some access and other resources,” said Tregre. “They are not the only school that will receive one.”

Principal Erica Merrick was thrilled to receive the golf cart and took it for a test drive after the lecture. The golf cart will be used for various sporting events and other means of transportation at the school.

“If you behave, maybe Principal Merrick will take some of you for a ride,” said Tregre while joking with students.
