River Parishes Hospital announced that Kelly Bou, a registered nurse in the recovery room, has been selected as a “Great 100” Nurse this year by the Great 100 Nurse Foundation.
Bou has been a nurse at RPH for seven years. She is an active member of both the Louisiana Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses and the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, which supports her pursuit of continuous learning. Bou recently assisted in reviewing and revising the hospital’s recovery process policies and procedures to ensure the utilization of the most up-to-date standards of care. Annually, she is responsible for sharing her expertise throughout the hospital in coordinating in-services on malignant hyperthermia, pediatric code readiness and the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
The “Great 100” Nurses recognition program was conceived in 1986. The event honors 100 exemplary nurses based on their concern for humanity and their contribution the community and to the nursing profession. As a recipient of the “Great 100” award, Kelly was recognized at the 26th annual Great 100 Nurses Celebration at the Pontchartrain Center.
