East St. John Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week recently. Sgt. Bertrand of the St. John Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug dog demonstration for the first- and second-graders. He informed the students about drugs, the dangers involved with drugs and making good decisions.

He also presented to the students the canine’s ability to find hidden drugs and other articles, it’s agility, obedience and protection.
