Luther L.V. Bankston of Hammond, 90, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Mid-City. He was born on Friday, April 28, 1922, in Hammond,  son of the late Rufus Bankston and the late Minnie M. Bankston.

Surviving him are daughters Beverly J. Chaiban and husband Nicolas and Sue B. Naquin, son Donald Bankston and wife Caroline, 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sisters, Christine Lanier Kelley and Lettie Jane Oliver.

He was preceded in death by wife Dorothy Pevey Bankston and brothers Alden Bankston and Allen Bankston.

Visitation and services were held Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Interment followed in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond. An online guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
