Denise Moran recently won the title of the Miss COYC Hurricane Festival Queen in Cutoff. Being chosen as the 2012 third maid in the Miss St. James Parish Pageant back in June entitled her to compete in another pageant representing the parish. Moran chose the Hurricane pageant to compete in.
Because she was chosen as the queen, Moran will reign over the annual Hurricane Festival in Cutoff, which is held on the second weekend in November. She will also attend other fairs and festivals throughout the state representing the Cutoff Youth Center. She will also have a chance to compete in the Louisiana Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens Pageant.
Moran is the 22-year-old daughter of Michael and Vikki Moran of Gramercy. She is currently employed at St. Peter Chanel School as a Pre-K3 Teacher’s Aide. She is a 2008 graduate of Lutcher High School. Moran lists her hobbies as volunteering for various companies, organizations and foundations, being around children, taking pictures and spending time with her family and her godchild, Zack. Her favorite movie is “The Polar Express” and her favorite flower is the tulip and her favorite television show is “Touch.” Moran describes herself as caring, outgoing and patient.
