Newman (4-3, 3-2) at Riverside (2-5, 1-3) — A loss would all but eliminate Riverside from the playoff picture, while Newman also needs a win to stay in the field. This one projects to be a shootout.
St. James (0-7, 0-3) at St. Charles (5-2, 3-0) — With a victory over St. James, the Comets clinch at least a share of the District 7-3A crown.
West St. John (4-3, 3-0) at St. John-Plaquemine (1-6, 1-2) — Ditto for the Rams, who will likely further hone their “rabbit” package, the team’s speedy no-huddle offense.
Assumption (5-3) at Lutcher (7-0) — A year ago, it was Lutcher on the road, handing undefeated Assumption its first loss of the year. This year, Assumption seeks to return the favor in a non-district Class 4A showdown.
Hahnville (3-4, 3-0) at John Ehret (0-7, 0-3) — After an 0-4 start, the Tigers can clinch a share of the District 8-5A championship with a win over Ehret. Hahnville will look to keep its running game hot behind tailback Sergio Medina.
