Charles leads E.D. White past St. James

E.D. White shut out St. James on Friday to stay in the District 7-3A championship chase, capturing a 24-0 win on the Cardinals homecoming night.
Darius Charles led E.D. White with 132 yards and a pair of touchdown on 17 carries.
E.D. White (6-2, 2-1) piled up 290 total offensive yards and held St. James (0-7, 0-3) to 173.
The teams were knotted in a scoreless tie until Hunter Cabellero set up the Cardinals at the 8 with an interception return. Charles scored on a 3-yard run midway through the second quarter. He’d score again before the half to put E.D. White ahead 14-0.
E.D. White added to its lead in the fourth quarter, on a 25-yard field goal by Rene Thibodaux and then a Stephen LeBouef 1-yard scoring run to round out the E.D. White scoring.
D’kwan Sandolph led St. James, rushing 16 times for 80 yards. He completed 3-of-15 passes for 70 yards. He threw an interception; Sandolph also intercepted a pass while playing defense.
