St. Charles shooting range schedule set

HAHNVILLE – The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced open dates at its shooting range for residents wishing to practice rifle shooting.
The range, located in Killona behind the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility, will be open to residents on Aug. 11 and 18, Sep. 1 and 15 and Oct. 13 and 20. Range hours are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m.
The following rules must be followed by all residents wishing to use the range:
• Residents must report to the firearms instructor prior to bringing weapons into the range.
• Weapons are to be transported to the range in a suitable transportation device.
• No weapons will be brought to the range already loaded.
• All Safety and Liability Forms must be filled out and signed prior to firing.
• No one under the age of 17 will be allowed to shoot on the range without parent or guardian supervision. A parent or guardian must sign the liability form.
• Proper identification is required to present to the firearms instructors.
• All participants are required to bring their own targets, safety glasses, hearing protection, ammunition, staples and staple gun.
