Rose W. Schexnayder, 82, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 5:50 a.m. at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Reserve and a resident of Grand Point for the past 59 years.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Nelson “Pie” Schexnayder, and her children and their spouses: JoAnn and Bobby Boudreaux, Nelson Schexnayder Jr., Wanda and Otis Taylor, Mark and Becky Schexnayder, Lisa and Perry Duhe. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Edia Waguespack, son Daren Schexnayder, step-grandson Glenn Taylor and great-grandson Colby Boudreaux.

Visitation and services were held Monday, June 25, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, with Father Edward Fuss, S.M., officiating. Entombment followed in the St. Joseph Mausoleum. Arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher.
