When the weather is so hot you can barely swallow, there is only one thing and one thing only that can cure your “Summertime Blues.”

Ask local author Alex McConduit and he will most likely recommend the following remedy.

“Have a snowball!” Yeah, you right, McConduit.

McConduit, in his early 20s, has just published his second book, “Snowballs For All.” His first book, “The Little Who Dat Who Didn’t” captured the Louisiana lifestyle as seen through the eyes of children.

“I wrote  ’Snowballs For All’ because I had a bad day and wanted to do something to cheer myself and others up,” McConduit said.

The St. John Library will host “Mr. Alex” on June 19, 4 p.m. He will be reading from and signing copies of his new book, and may even talk about the joys of  the “perfect” snowball.
