The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office joined other members of the community Friday morning to participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The eight-mile run began at the Frostop Restaurant on Airline Highway in LaPlace and ended at St. Peter Church on River Road in Reserve. The event, which is held nationally, raises money for Special Olympians to participate in the games. The Louisiana summer games begin May 18 in Hammond.
