A trio of local golf squads squared off Wednesday as Riverside emerged the victor in a four-way match at Belle Terre Country Club, the Rebels toppling St. Charles Catholic, Destrehan and DeLaSalle.

St. Martin’s also played in the match but had only 2 players and could not post a team score.

The Rebels came away with the win with a score of 179. St. Charles finished second with a score of 189. Destrehan and De La Salle each had a player disqualified, which negated any team score as each team began the day with just four players.

Sean Flynn, Cory Costanza, and Deuce Wallace posted a score of 41 and Jordan Andrews posted his lowest nine hole score this season with a 56.

According to Rebel coach Roy Aubert Flynn, Costanza, and Wallace were even after six holes.

“They were all playing great but they had a little trouble with the last 3 holes, 16, 17 and 18. They were 5 over par for the last 3 holes. No. 17 was the hole that gave each of them the most trouble. It is a very hard hole and that is why it is the No. 1 handicap hole at Belle Terre.”

St. Charles was led by Lance Perrilloux. He posted a 42. Cameron Torres posted a 43. Dalton Landry posted a score of 48 and Michael Bosarde came in with a 56 to give the Comets a team score of 189.

Destrehan’s Miguel Miranda posted a score of 37, which was the lowest score of the match.

The next match for the Rebels is scheduled to be played at Belle Terre on Monday. Rebels will host E.D. White and Destrehan.

St. Charles returns to action Tuesday, when it faces E.D. White at Riverlands.
