Paul Keith Melancon Sr., 67, born Oct. 6, 1944, was a native of Gramercy and a resident of Gonzales. He passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Martin, Paul Keith Melancon Jr., Tanya Marie Melancon, Triche Lynn Melancon, Chantel Ivette Melancon and Casey Melancon; brothers, Kerry D. Melancon and Glen B. Melancon; sisters, Aurelia M. Delanevile and Odile M. Wilson; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elphege R. Melancon; mother, Lea D. Melancon; brother, Jimmy Melancon; and sister-in-law, Clara Melancon.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

The family wishes to thank the owners and workers of the White Rose Motel, Gonzales, and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.

Visitation and services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina. Arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Lutcher.
