Nine students from St. Charles Catholic recently went to the “March for Life” rally in Washington, D.C. The students were under the guidance of Gary Ault of the Religion Department. While they were on the trip, they visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Smithsonian Museum. The students also went on a tour of the WWII Memorial, the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. The most important thing that they did, however, was participate in the 39th annual March for Life rally. Senior Klay Olasin said, “March for Life is an exciting experience, and if you are open to it and are going for the right reasons, then it can change you for the better.”

Whitney Rizzuto, another senior at St. Charles, said, “It is definitely a life changing experience. You go up there with a certain mindset and it is totally different when you come home. If the trip doesn’t change you, the 24 hour bus ride will.”

Ault said, “I saw so many young people from all parts of the country marching to show their support for all life, from the pre-born to end of natural life – very impressive.”

Students attending form SCC were Ashley Klibert, Gi Levet, Julie Melancon, Tiffany Mitchell, Chris Millet, Cori Millet, Klay Olasin, Whitney Rizzuto and Amy Zhou.
