Dinvaut appointed to SU board

BATON ROUGE – Gov. Bobby Jindal recently announced the appointment of Bridget Dinvaut of Reserve to the Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College.

Dinvaut is the assistant district attorney for the St. John the Baptist Parish District Attorney’s Office. Dinvaut will be appointed to represent the 3rd Congressional District, as required by statute.

The Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College serves to manage and supervise the Southern University System.

According to statute, the board is comprised of 16 members, subject to Senate confirmation. The board includes two members from each congressional district, one at-large member and one representative of the student body.

Additional appointments to the Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College include:

Joe Gant Jr. of Shreveport is the senior pastor at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Gant will be appointed to represent the 4th Congressional District, as required by statute.
