LAPLACE – The last day for residents of the River Parishes to register for the March 24 presidential primary is Tuesday, Feb. 21, in St. John the Baptist Parish and Wednesday, Feb. 22, in St. James and St. Charles parishes, according to the Registrar of Voters offices.

Any changes in registration, such as political party, addresses and name changes, must also be completed by those dates to be effective for the March election.

The ballot includes elections for District Court Judge Division E in St. Charles, Judicial District Judge Division D in St. James, District 3 Gramercy Alderman, and various tax proposals in St. John Parish.

To register or make changes, residents should visit the Registrar of Voters Office in their respective parish. In St. John Parish, the offices are located at 801 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace, or 2393 Louisiana Highway 18, Edgard, at the St. John Courthouse. In St. James Parish, the office is located at the courthouse, 5800 Louisiana 44, Convent. In St. Charles Parish, the office is located at the courthouse, 15045 River Road, Hahnville.
