On Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, Norvin Joseph Rose answered God’s call to follow him to his new heavenly home. He passed peacefully at 1:45 a.m. at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace.

Born in Chackbay on Nov. 17, 1932, Norvin was a lifelong resident of Lutcher. He is a retiree of Kaiser Aluminum, a lifetime member of L.P.G. Hunting club on Blind River and a deputy for the town of Lutcher and served in the United States Army.

Norvin is survived by his teenage sweetheart and devoted wife of 56 years, Marilyn K. Rose, and their four adoring children and their spouses: Clyde and Renee’ Rose of Lutcher; Amanda Cantillo of Lutcher; Jason Rose and partner, Bill Dyer, of Texas; and Kirk and Linda Rose of Lutcher. Also known as “Paw-Paw,” he is survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Harrell, Seth and Tyler Rose and Michael Cantillo; and one great-granddaughter, Payton Harrell. Norvin is also survived by one brother, E.J. Rose of Vacherie.

Norvin was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wilbert and Euginie Rose of Chackbay.

Visiting will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
