Alma Chiasson Dasch, 92, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at St. James Hospital in Lutcher. A native of Lafourche Crossing, she lived in Norco for the past 70 years. She was a practical nurse for Dr. Bill Landry for many years.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Merrill J. “PaPa” Dasch Sr. She was the loving mother of Lucy Abate Allen (Loyd) and Merrill J. “Jim” Dasch Jr. (Barbara), daughter of the late Leon Chiasson and Marie Weimer Chiasson, sister of Helen Rome, Betty Hymel, Bernice Oubre, the late Marie Laque, the late Leon Chiasson, the late Arthur Chaisson, the late Pauline Chiasson, the late Alice Mae Palmisano, the late Pearl Verda and the late Rosmary Chiasson and grandmother of Laurie Abate Ball, Patrice Abate Millet (Mickey), Marcel Abate (Penny), Jody Dasch Kling (Andy) and Mikel Dasch.

She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 401 Spruce St., Norco. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
