LAPLACE – Two suspects identified as “persons of interest” in Saturday’s homicide in Garyville, and a third man wanted in a separate incident, have turned themselves in to authorities.

Craig Lee Jr., 23, Devonte Johnson, 18, and Cyron Lee, 22, surrendered to deputies at the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Capt. Dane Clement, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Craig Lee Jr. and Johnson are persons of interest in connection with the homicide of Kevin Ferrygood last Saturday as well as the homicide of Darron Russell on May 23, 2010, which occurred at the same location. Each was booked with four counts of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property in connection with unrelated criminal activity. Clement said neither of the men has been charged in either of the homicide investigations.

Cyron Lee was booked on weapons and drug charges in connection with an incident involving Johnson.

According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to calls of gunshots near the intersection of South Fig Street and Daisy Street just after 9 p.m. Saturday and found Ferrygood lying in the road with several gunshot wounds. Clement said Ferrygood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile in the other case, detectives said Russell, a 38-year-old Paulina man and a 30-year-old Garyville female, were traveling south on Daisy Street in a white Ford Explorer when an unidentified person fired several shots into the vehicle while it was stopped at the intersection of South Fig Street. The gunfire wounded all three in the vehicle and also struck an 18-year-old, who was a bystander near the intersection, Clement said.

Clement said the warrants for Johnson and Craig Lee Jr. stem from in incident on July 16 on Historic Main Street in Garyville.

Witnesses reported that shots fired from a gray SUV struck another vehicle occupied by four subjects. No one was shot in the incident, but evidence at the scene indicated at least two weapons were fired.

Clement said Craig Lee was also wanted for attempted second-degree murder in connection with an incident that occurred on Manchester Lane in LaPlace on Jan. 7, 2011. In that case, the victim told deputies that as he exited his car, Lee approached him with a gun. When he turned to run, Lee fired several shots, missing him but hitting the car.

Johnson was also wanted for illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of marijuana in connection with an incident that occurred on Revere Drive in LaPlace on Dec. 21. Johnson was shot while driving his car on Revere Drive. When detectives were processing the car for evidence, they recovered a gun and marijuana in the car.

Clement said Cyron Lee was wanted for illegal carrying of a firearm and possession of marijuana in connection with the incident on Revere Drive. Lee was a passenger in the car when Johnson was shot.

All three men are being held at the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility. Craig Lee’s bond has been set at $520,000, Johnson’s bond has been set at $455,000 and Cyron Lee’s bond has been set at $35,000.
