West St. John Elementary fifth-graders were all taught ways to resist drugs and alcohol through D.A.R.E. At the end of the program, the students must write an essay on what they learned to successfully complete the 15-week program. Ria Red, pictured at right, was awarded a medal and certificate of achievement for having as outstanding essay. Also picture is Sgt. Marshall T. Carmouche. Carmouche will also be instructing the D.A.R.E. program to eighth-graders in the upcoming semester.
