LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a LaPlace man who allegedly robbed a Reserve grocery store twice in one evening.

Jermaine Carter, 30, of Colony Drive was apprehended at his home Friday afternoon, said Capt. Dane Clement, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office. Carter was booked with two counts of armed robbery and is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility in LaPlace on a $120,000 bond.

Clement said the manager of the store, located on River Road, contacted deputies at 12:17 p.m. Friday to report the store had been robbed twice the night before. Deputies reviewed surveillance footage from cameras inside the store and observed a male subject, later identified as Carter, enter the store two times.

Clement said each time the man came into the store he brandished a weapon and left with merchandise.

No one was injured in the incidents, Clement said.
