2012 Krewe du Monde royalty

LAPLACE – Christy Montegut and Ellen M. Flynn will share the spotlight as King and Queen du Monde XXXII in the River Parishes’ largest Carnival celebration in LaPlace.

The King and Queen and members of their royal court will be officially presented at the 33rd Krewe du Monde Ball at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. Krewe du Monde “Celebrates Love Du Monde Style” is the theme. The parade rolls through LaPlace on Sunday, Feb. 19, beginning at noon.

Christy Montegut M.D. is employed by Family Doctor Clinic of LaPlace. Montegut and his wife Linda have been married for 36 years and have four children, Jason, Amanda, Christian and Frannie. Montegut has been involved with Krewe du Monde since 1986. He was a Duke in 1986.

Ellen M. Flynn, the daughter of Harold and Toni Flynn, graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans in 2008. She is a senior at the University of Mississippi. Flynn served as a Maid in Krewe du Monde in 2010.

Pages to the King are Linda Rose and Emma Lily, the daughters of Todd and Amanda Bourgeois of LaPlace (granddaughters of the King). Sword Bearers to the King are Dylan Daves Bracey, son of Scott and Beth Bracey of River Ridge (great nephew of the King), and Michael Edward Vocke, son of Eric and Monique Vocke of Metairie (grandson of Michael Scioneaux, King DuMonde XXVII).

The Queen’s Pages are Jamesleigh Falgout, daughter of Dustin and Jennie Falgout of Houma, and Rachel Rumney, daughter of Gary and Patti Rumney of Metairie.

Duke Aaron Tregre of LaPlace and Maid Leila Shea Boudreaux of LaPlace

Trege is the owner of A Plus Construction LLC in LaPlace. Trege and his wife Nicole have two daughters Baileigh and Bryleigh. Boudreaux, the daughter of Michael and Linda Boudreaux, is a 2010 graduate of St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace and is currently attending Southeastern Louisiana University studying special education.

Duke Randy Mire of Prairieville and Maid Brooke Ashlie Boe of Gramercy

Mire is the owner of Gem Drugs with stores in Reserve and Gramercy. Mire is married to Kanoa Jo Mire. Boe, the daughter of William and Lori Millet of Gramercy and Brent Boe of Lutcher, is a 2008 graduate of Lutcher High School and is currently studying pre-pharmacy at SLU.

Duke Gary Smith Jr. of Montz and Maid Ashley Corchiani of Destrehan

Smith is owner of his own law firm and serves as a Louisiana State Senator. He and his wife Kathrine have one son Henry Wilson Smith. Corchiani, the daughter of Gabe and Karen Corchiani of Destrehan is a senior at St. Charles High School in LaPlace where she is an honor society member and cheerleader.

Duke Tomy Acosta of Garyville and Maid Lauren Louque of Garvyille

Acosta is the owner of Acosta Law Firm L.L.C. in LaPlace. Acosta is active in many academic organizations. Louque, the daughter of Jeff and Mikleen Louque of Garyville, is a senior with five letter years in band at Riverside Academy in Reserve and plans to attend LSU.

Duke Christopher Guidry of Gonzales and Maid Jerica Bourgeois of Paulina

Guidry is the owner of Guidry Associates. Guidry is married to Jerene Guidry. Bourgeois, the daughter of Jerry and Mary Bourgeois, graduated from Lutcher High School in 2010 and is currently a sophomore at Our Lady of the Lake, where she is studying respiratory therapy.

Duke Jared Wheelehan of LaPlace and Maid Casey Sanchez of Convington

Wheelehan is employed by BP as Materials Management and Transportation lead. Wheelehan is married to Brandi Wheelehan. Sanchez, graduated from Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville. She is a licensed cosmetologist and has been working in salons on the north shore since 2006.

Captain Randy Zaidain of LaPlace and Captain’s Lady Michelle Zaidain of LaPlace

Randy has been involved with LaPlace Lions Club and Krewe du Monde since 2005. Zaidain and his wife have two daughters, Zoe and Ashleigh. Zaidain owns and operates Bengal Security in LaPlace.

Krewe du Monde was founded by the LaPlace Jaycees in 1974. The current Krewe du Monde activities are run by and for the benefit of the Lion’s Club of LaPlace. The krewe’s parade is the largest in the River Parishes.
