HAHNVILLE – Former longtime St. Charles Parish Registrar of Voters J. Leonard Zeringue passed away Thursday morning at the age of 92, according to a release from the Registrar’s Office.

Zeringue served as Registrar of Voters for St. Charles for 26 years from 1962-1988. He leaves behind nine children, 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

A Wake will be held Sunday at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, in Marrero from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church on River Road in Hahnville, followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m.
