Doug Rhodes, customer service manager for Entergy, recently stopped by the Satellite Center in St. Charles to deliver a $500 sponsorship check for the Satellite Center Video and Animation Festival. The funds will be used to purchase supplies and help cover some of the expenses for the event. The SCVAF was founded six years ago by Satellite Center facilitators Brian Gough, Albert Dupont and Rhitt Growl as a project for their team members. It has since grown into a regional animation and film event for high school students and community members in the River Parishes, the Greater New Orleans Area and the Northshore. The 2012 festival will be held Friday, April 20, at the Professional Learning Center in Luling.
