LAPLACE – The Senior Friends Members at River Parishes Hospital recently attended their bi-monthly Meet and Greet luncheon in the River Parishes Hospital Medical Pavilion.

Members were asked to wear something orange, green or brown and were able to bring a guest to learn about the benefits available to them by becoming a member of the Senior Friends Program.

All attendees were asked to donate a non-perishable food item to donate to needy families through the St. John Ministry of Care. Briana Bramlette-Sikes, a donor recruitment representative with United Blood Services, spoke to the group about the critical need for people to donate blood on a regular basis and about the misconceptions that some people have about donation requirements that may deter them from donating. A brief question and answer period followed the presentation. Afterwards, several drawings were held for door prizes.
