Joan Elizabeth DuRocher, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the Vermilion Health Care Center in Abbeville, La. She was a native of New Orleans and lived in Norco since 1938. She was a retired supervisor with Shell Oil Company.

She is survived by her brother, Drew DuRocher of Naples, Fla., his children, Dan DuRocher and Jeffrey DuRocher, her niece, Mae Dufour Mayeux of Abbeville, and her child, Tiffany Olivier, and her nephew, Denny Dufour, and wife, Debbie Dufour, of Prairieville and their children, Casey Dufour, Chrissie Dufour Belle and Cody Dufour. She is also survived by many cousins. She will be missed by her beloved dogs, Many-Too and BeBe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Andrew DuRocher Sr. and Loretta Elizabeth Duclos, brother, Alton Andrew DuRocher, and sister, Marilyn Claire DuRocher Dufour.

Visitation and services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories in Metairie.
