Theresa Mejia, 71, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011. She was a homemaker and a native of New Orleans and has lived in St. Charles Parish for the past five years. She worked as a nurses aide.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Marco Antonio Mejia; six sons: Peter, Augustus, Kirk and Keith Garcia and Marco and Thomas Mejia; one daughter, Cynthia Chahoc; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ficaro Sr. and Eunice Nata Ficaro LeBourgeois; her first husband, Peter Frank Garcia Sr.; daughter Catherine Garcia; and three siblings.
