RESERVE – The East St John High School Jobs for America’s Graduates students recently completed their inaugural year at the school.

“It was been a wonderful, enjoyable, eye-opening, educational year,” stated ESJHS JAG Specialist Glenda Gaines as she recounted their many activities and successes.

The JAG students’ activities included their Initiation and Induction Ceremony, field trips, the Career Development Conference, the Leadership Conference, their first annual Arts and Craft Show and a “Fun Day” in the park for the pre-kindergarten students from their sister school, East St. John Elementary and the special education students at the high school. The final activity for the year was the campus beautification project on the front lawn of the East St. John High School campus. The students received instruction and assistance from Keith LeSaicherre of Cypress Land Contractors of LaPlace.

All of the JAG activities were made possible through generous contributions from members of the community.

“As we come to the end of the school year, the ESJHS JAG students and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make this a memorable year. An special thank you to site coordinator Walter ‘Gus’ Madere, the LA Workforce Commission, Raising Canes, Winn Dixie, Mabile’s and McDonald’s,” said Gaines.
