Wayne M. Matherne, 68, a resident of LaPlace, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Wayne, an avid fisherman, was born and raised in Norco and lived in Montz for several years.

He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Shields, and grandson, David Shields. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary, Merrick and Barry Matherne, and a sister, Cheryl Weber.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, George and Theo Mae St. Amant Matherne.
