Ulysse J. Dufresne, 88, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.

He was the husband of Joyce Hymel Dufresne, father and father-in-law of Camille Dufresne, C. Louise Bourgeois (Keith), Mark Dufresne (Dawn), Jeanne Lauve (Perry) and Simone Finn (John), grandfather of Robert Barker Jr., Jacques (Kelly) and Antoinne Bourgeois, Dustin Zeringue, Matthew Lauve and Sean and Eryn Finn, great-grandfather of Robert Barker III and son of Ulysse O. and Ida Dufresne.

He was preceded in death by brothers Claude and Amilcar Dufresne and sisters Ann Dennis, Cecile Faucheaux, Agnes Barre, Ethel Dufresne, Georgette Spoontz and Philomen Falgoust.

He retired from Monsanto Chemical and proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

Visitation and services were held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Burial followed in the St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery in Vacherie.
