LEAP registration beginning Monday

Students planning to enter the public school system in fifth or ninth grade during the 2011-12 school year from private, parochial or home schooling should register with the central office for the state-mandated LEAP test.

The spring test will be administered in two phases. Phase I will be held March 22, and Phase II will be held on April 11-12. The location and time for the LEAP test will be determined later. Parents of registered students will be contacted prior to testing.

A $35 testing fee (payable in money order, cashiers check or credit/debit card) will be charged. The fee is refundable if the student enrolls in a St. John the Baptist Parish public schools by Oct. 1, 2011.

A registration form may be picked up at the St. John the Baptist Parish School Board Office located at 118 W. 10th St. in Reserve or at any St. John the Baptist Parish library.

The form and registration fee may be returned to Kim Scioneaux at the School Board Office beginning Monday, Feb. 7, with a deadline of 4 p.m. Fridav, March 11.
