Hilda L. Roussel, 88, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010. She was a most beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew (Mary) Roussel Jr. and Larry (Gayle) Roussel; two daughters, Mary Ann (Gayle) Rome and Peggy (Terry) McCreary; one daughter-in-law, Juanita Roussel; two sisters, Ruth Accardo and Alice Bourgeois; one brother, Manuel Louque; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Roussel Sr.; her parents, Ulysse Louque Sr. and Archange Bourgeois Louque; her son, Joey P. Roussel; her sisters, Lucia Louque, Marant Bourgeois, Marie Pizzuto, Louisiana “Aunt Nana” Deslattes and Florence Accardo; and her brothers, Stark Louque, Joseph Louque and Ulysse Louque Jr.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher and continued on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Convent. Mass of Christian Burial followed with Fr. Vincent Dufresne as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paulina.
