Craig J. Tamplain departed this life on Dec. 8, 2010, at the age of 71. Craig resided in Union Grove, Ala., and was born and raised in Reserve, where he graduated from Leon Godchaux High School as part of the class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a former resident of Marrero.

He was the beloved husband of Ann Freeling Tamplain.

He is survived by his children: Kim (Roy) Thompson, Kevin (Evelyn) Kruise, Sandra Tamplain, Janet (John) Drawdy, Shannon (Jeff) Lockard and Sean (Shelena) Gervais; brothers: Ray (Judy) Tamplain and Gordon (Gloria) Tamplain; sister Beryl Tamplain; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grand children; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Malone and Lena DeRoche Tamplain. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Garden of Memories in Metairie. An expression of sympathy and support would greatly be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
