LAPLACE – The LaPlace Elementary School Bell Choir is “ringing in” the holiday season in various locations. The choir, comprised of the students in the first-grade classes at LES, will play selections such as “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Kristina Miller, Leslie Faucheux and Dolly Forsythe, three of LES’s first-grade teachers, have been diligently preparing the students for their many performances.

“The Bell Choir is a wonderful experience for our students. It gives us, as teachers, the opportunity to teach the students the true meaning of ‘service’ to others and their community. Hopefully, the students will build upon this experience in the Bell Choir and one day become outstanding leaders,” said Miller.

The bell choir’s performances included St. John School Board Meeting held at Emily C. Watkins, Ochsner Hospital’s “Tree of Life Celebration,” and Southeast War Veterans Home with the Rotary Club. Their final performance will be Friday, Dec. 17, for the Valero Senior Citizens Christmas Luncheon at 11 a.m.
