The Senior Friends Members at River Parishes Hospital recently attended their bi-monthly “Meet and Greet” luncheon in the River Parishes Hospital Medical Pavilion. Each member was able to bring a guest to learn about the benefits available to them by becoming a member of the Senior Friends Program.

All attendees were asked to donate non-perishable food items to donate to needy families through the St. John Ministry of Care. Marie Tassin, River Parishes Hospital’s Risk Manager, spoke to the group about the importance of receiving vaccinations to fight off flu and other illnesses. She also stressed the importance of hand washing to decrease the spread of infections. A brief question and answer period followed the presentation. Afterwards, several drawings were held for door prizes.
