LaPlace – The River Region Arts and Humanities Council is presenting the upcoming “Mad Hatters Tea Party & Fashion Show” at San Francisco Plantation, 2646 Highway 44 (River Road), Garyville, on Sunday, Nov. 28. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the tea party and fashion show are from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. RRAHC cordially invites its members, the general public and all “Queens, Teens and Tots to a Tea Party & Fashion Show.” All ages are invited to meet Alice and the rabbit. It is sure to be a magical beginning of the holiday season that can be shared with family and friends.

Cashio’s Catering will be preparing a tea-time menu of sandwiches of cucumber with dill on white, chicken salad on mini croissants, mini quiche, ham and cheese on white, peanut butter and jelly on white, egg salad on white, roast beef with caramelized onions and horseradish cream cheese, smoked salmon salad on crackers, scones, cookies, vanilla and chocolate petit fours, fruit tarts, fresh fruit with chocolate fountain, tea and hot chocolate. A cash bar will be available for champagne, poinsettias and mimosas. There will be raffles, auctions and more. During tea, RRAHC has arranged for a Fashion Show featuring women’s clothes by CAbi, children’s clothes by Rags Land and jewelry by Carolyn Boyd Designs. The fashion models will be representatives from the three River Parishes. The cost of a ticket to attend the “Mad Hatters Tea Party & Fashion Show” is $35 for adults and $25 for children (ages 12 and under), per person. There will be reserved seating.
