Area public school students will enjoy one or more holidays in the coming week.

In St. John the Baptist Parish schools will be closed Monday, Nov. 1, and Tuesday, Nov. 2. As these days coincide with two of the furlough days the district instituted as a cost-cutting measure, the central office will also be closed on these days.

In St. James Parish, all public school will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 2, in observance of Election Day.

St. Charles Parish public school students will be off Monday, Nov. 1, the last day of their Fall Holiday, which began Friday.
